Plot: Aditya(Soham) is from a middle-class family but has the degree of a computer engineer.But because of recession he runs a small car garage called Biswakarma Garage where he is the car-mechanic. Aditya's mother(Tulika Basu) is eagerly waiting for the chance to get his son married.One day, while Aditya was returning from his garage,some goons beat him up and breaks his leg without any reason. Later,after Aditya is released form the nursing home, he goes to the goon and find out who told them to beat him up. The goons tell him that Sweety(Puja Bose) told them to beat himup. Aditya ask Sweety why she did so and Sweety says that the goons beat him up by mistake and actually wanted to beat up another guy who is disturbing Sweety. Aditya does not take the matter so lightly and tells Sweet to marry himas because of this accident his marriage got cancelled.Sweety insults Adi after hearing this and Adi promises to take revenge. The next day,while Adi was returning home, Sweety again beats him up badly with a hockey stick. Adi tries to stop him an by chance Sweety hits his leg which was damaged and the leg becomes fine again! Adi then tells Sweety that he has fallen in love with Sweety and she is booked form today. Sweety becomes furious at this. Meanwhile, Sweety's mother visits Adi's garage to fix her car and sees a poster of a film which shows cheap photo of a couple and calls the media in the garage as she was a social worker working for women...

Plot

On an invitation by Mahitosh Singha Ray, Lalmohon Babu robs Feluda and Topshe at a forest near Bhutan and climbs up in the ancestral home of Mahitosh Singha Ray. After few days of their arrival,Mahitosh Singha Ray's assistance, Tarit dies. His deadbody is found in the forest, and police believes he has died due to the tiger's snarl. But later they found a blood-stained sword near his body. Meanwhile, Mahitosh gives Feluda a puzzle to solve. Feluda's amazing intelligence is proved in this part. He solves it most amazingly, and at the end, chalks out that a treasure chest is hidden 55 hands away from a tree which has a hole between it, which looks like an old person's mouth without any teeth; between two Arjuna trees. While Feluda and his companion are on the way to the treasure chest, they finds Tarit's spectacles and later on, his torch, which suggests that Tarit has solved the puzzle much earlier than the others, and was on his way to the treasure chest. At last, Feluda finds the treasure chest, and helds out the conclusion. Mahitosh had broke his hand due to a fall from a tree, which Feluda came to know when he was unable to hold the rifle. All the precious huntings of the tiger were done by his friend, Shashanka. On that night, while Tarit was about to leave, Shashanka too followed him quietly. When there came a Royal Bengal Tiger. Shashanka fired his rifle, which shoot off the tiger's nose after Feluda found a bit of skin. Tarit's sword, as he observed, has begun acting like a magnet, which was created by a flash of lightning. Thus, Tarit wasn't murdered by any villain, but only, the nature was the cause of his death. He, at the end of the story is rewarded with a part of treasure.

Story

Byomkesh had fallen critically ill sometime back and is being nursed back to health by his wife, Satyabati (Ushashie Chakraborty) and dear friend, Ajit (Saswata Chatterjee). On medical advice, Byomkesh goes to Dooars to recuperate with his two caring companions and the health condition of Byomkesh takes a decided turn for the better with the change in climate, much to the relief of Satyabati and Ajit.

But, as fate would have it, mystery arrives. At Dooars, Byomkesh makes his acquaintance with several Bengali inhabitants from the local community like Dr. Ashwini Ghatak (Sujan Mukherjee), Prof. Adinath Shome (Pijush Ganguly), Mahidhar Chaudhury (Biswajit Chakrabarty), photographer Nakuleshwar (Arindol Bagchi), police officer Purander Pandey (Kunal Padhy), deputy magistrate Umanath Ghosh (Chandan Sen) and banker Amaresh Raha (Kaushik Sen). They all meet at a get-together at the residence of Mahidhar Chaudhary, where everybody is regaled by the singing of Mahidhar's young daughter Rajani (Swastika Mukherjee).

The flow of the party is somewhat interrupted by the sudden arrival of Falguni Pal, a poor artist, who has the rare talent of painting anyone's portrait after seeing his subject for only a few minutes. In passing, Mahidhar also reports that a robbery had taken place at his house a couple of days back. The thief, however, had rather strangely ignored all of Mahidhar's riches and stolen only a group photograph of Mahidhar with all the other local Bengali neighbours. Adding to the odd nature of the situation is the fact that, all the others who had a copy of that photograph seem to have misplaced or lost the same. The issue is apparently trivial, but, nonetheless, intrigues the ever-alert Byomkesh.

Matters, however, take a more serious turn when there is yet another attempted robbery, this time, at the house of the deputy magistrate, Umanath Ghosh. Falguni Pal is also murdered in cold blood.

In yet another twist of proceedings, Byomkesh finds out that both Adinath Shome and Ashwini Ghatak are romantically inclined towards the beautiful Rajani.

The strange disappearance of that one particular photograph leads Byomkesh to believe that someone is trying to remove all evidence of his presence in the locality. And after a series of hits and misses, Byomkesh finds out the killer to be the banker, Amaresh Jha. He was trying to flee with the bank's money and used to keep a fake beard, while in the group photograph he was not wearing so. So he went on to steal those photographs and also killed Falguni as he drew Amaresh's sketch when he was not in his bearded attire. But to escape his stay in the jail he commits suicide in the local station in the presence of Byomkesh and some others. However, this was most disgusting to Byomkesh as he wanted to catch hold of him alive.

‘Ekla Akash’ is a story of love, despair, infidelity and a tragedy in general. It deals with a troubled marriage between a young couple, Arijit and Nisha. The ambitious couple have reached a point in their relationship from where there is no turning back so they continue to live with each other and their child is also born. Arijit’s infidelity is primarily the reason as he is having an affair with his colleague . Arijit also has questions regarding Nisha’s special relationship with her mentor S.R, who is a film director and wants to make a film star. Eventually he does make her a star, but it only makes things worse.

The film is an extremely dramatic film and can be depressing for most people. You might even hate Arijit and call him names, but eventually that anger lessens because he realizes the meaning of true love, of a family, of what it feels to be like a father and what he had done with his life so far. Though the relationship is at crossroads, yet both of realize their own mistakes and come back to each other, but then it is too late. Everything happens at the cost of losing their only child to a lung disease. This tragic ending perhaps heightens the drama of the film and makes it worth watching which was perhaps not so initially. Goutam Ghosh also plays a very interesting role as S.R, Nisha’a mentor who just sees talent in his protege and that is all there is to that relationship. There is love and affection between the two-but of that between a mentor and his protege, nothing else. He is a happy go lucky scion of a North Kolkata family who stays in a sprawling mansion literally all by himself and he finally finds peace when he goes to Darjeeling as the music teacher of Disha’s school. The film proves once again that nothing can replace the love between a husband and a wife no matter how many affairs you indulge in because somewhere down the line it is devoid and empty and does not have any lasting value or feelings . However if you realize things too late, things can be tragic as in this film. Parambrata is okay as Arijit and he has already shown his acting abilities in other films. Debaleena Dutt as his colleague with whom he has an affair is quite good as the femme fa-tale, bu then again even she changes in the end. However the film belongs to Parno Mittra who is in her first lead role in a film and boy, does she deliver!She is wonderful restrained and shows a level of maturity in handling her role well . Every scene is enacted by her perfectly well.

The music is okay, rather a few of the scenes in the film, one which shows the long winding roads of Darjeeling and another which shows the sprawling North Kolkata mansion in all it’s splendour look quite good.(Akki - BiA)

Five childhood friends, Bapi, Dola, Jijo, Hasna and Riju are just out of college who hangs out together. Bapi, the younger son of a rich jeweller in Kolkata happens to be the money contributors for his friends. While Bapi joins his family business, other friends are looking out for jobs. Jijo gets into a relationship with Hasna. Riju thinks that he is into a relationship with a girl five years older than him. One day Riju’s world was shattered when she introduced Riju to her fiancé, and calls him her brother. Riju got himself drunk, and all the friends left him alone outside the bar. While returning back from the pub with Dola, Bapi realised that he must have got some feelings for Dola. One day, when Dola came to Bapi’s house, he asked Dola who is Bishwayan da? They got into an argument and Bapi kissed Dola. Dola freed herself and told that they are just friends, but gave Bapi another kiss on his cheek. Further, she told that Bapi is not manly enough and lacks any mystery in his life. Another day Bapi’s sister-in-law found adult magazines and evidence of masturbation, asks Bapi’s elder brother to get Bapi married.

Bapi went to see his prospective bride, where he meets Sheuli, a middle class girl. Sheuli asked Bapi, if he loves someone else. He confessed that he loves Dola. Sheuli told that she will help him to get Dola, but he must call off the marriage. Bapi introduced Sheuli to his friends. Dola seemed jealous about Sheuli and asked Bapi that this is not the ideal time to marry. Bapi gets a job of a salesman on the advise of Sheuli and struggles to impress Dola. In the mean time Sheuli and Bapi seems to fall in love with each other. Dola realised that she loves Bapi and wants to be with him. One day Bapi went to Sheuli’s home, where she asked him to stay away. It is seen that Sheuli meets her old boyfriend, who returned back to the city. Dola confessed her love before Bapi, and told him not to leave his salesman job.

Dutta Vs Dutta (2012)

Biren Dutta is a lawyer. He is unsuccessful in his career and does not have any client. His wife is an alcoholic. Biren Dutta has an extra-marital affair with his only client. The couple has one son and one daughter. The daughter China first falls in love with Ghenti Kaku who is of her father's age and later falls in love with a guy who is involved with Naxalite movement and finally runs away with him without permission of her parents. Their teenager son Rono comes back from boarding school since their father could not pay off his tuition fees. Dutta wants his son to be a barrister but his son wants to become an actor. Father of Dutta comes back briefly and starts a music school within the house. Later Biren Dutta's daughter comes back with her Naxal husband, which makes the father moist and accept him. In the meanwhile one of Rono's Naxalite friends takes shelter in the house to evade police. Biren Dutta was unaware of this and when the police knocked at the house searching for the boy, he challenges the police. The police takes him away to police station to drop him after 3 days, brutally beaten up. This causes a major setback to Dutta and since then he stops talking to anyone. At the end, Rono gets a chance in a film by Mrinal Sen (Anjan Dutta's first film was also with Mrinal Sen) - the movie ends at that positive note.

Jekhane Bhooter Voy (2012)

Plot

The film starts with Tarinikhudo or Tarinicharan Banerjee, one of Satyjit Ray's characters, saying some boys of his fanclub about ghosts. The first and second stories he said about ghosts was Satyajit Ray's Anath Babur Bhoy and Brown Saheber Bari. The last one was Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Bhut Bhabishyat.(initially four stories were taken to film, but the fourth one, Lucknowe Duel was dropped later to avoid the length).

• "Anathbabur Bhoy" is about a ghost-hunter Anathbandhu Mitra and his uncanny experiences in a haunted house in Birbhum.
• "Brown Saheber Bari" is about "Simon", a mysterious entity who haunts a dilapidated cottage in Kalimpong.
• "Bhoot Bhobishyot" is based on a peculiar relationship between a writer and a friendly 19th century ghost. It is a light-hearted story with a memorable twist at the end of it all.

Filming

The film is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films. The shooting of this film has been done in different places like Shantiniketan,Kalimpong, Lucknow etc. The film released on 21 December 2012.

Home Video Release

The film was released in Anamorphic Widescreen DVD format on March, 2013 with english subtitles and some bonus features in all regions with 5.1 channel surround sound for non-commercial home viewing.
